য়োয়াবের বাঁ হাতে যে তরবারি রযেছে সে দিকে অমাসা কোন নজরই দেয নি| কিন্তু য়োয়াব অমাসার পেটে তরবারি বসিযে দিল| অমাসার নাড়িভুঁড়ি বেরিয়ে মাটিতে পড়ে গেল| য়োয়াবকে দ্বিতীয়বার আর তরবারি চালাতে হল না - ইতিমধ্যেই সে মারা গেছে|তারপর য়োয়াব এবং তার ভাই অবীশয আবার বিখ্রিযের পুত্র শেবঃকে তাড়া করতে থাকল|

But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth [rib,] and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
